Report a catch or lake update

Overview

Electric Lake is a high-elevation reservoir in central Utah, surrounded by forested slopes and cooler mountain air. It has a quieter, more remote feel than many Wasatch Front waters and is best known as a dependable trout destination.

Fishing Overview

Electric Lake is primarily a trout fishery, with rainbow trout being the main draw. Fishing is typically best in spring and early summer, when trout are active and accessible, and again in fall as water temperatures cool. Shore anglers do well early in the season, while boats and float tubes help reach deeper water later on.

Access and Amenities

Electric Lake has public access with a boat ramp and shoreline fishing areas, along with nearby camping opportunities. The higher elevation keeps summer temperatures comfortable, but weather can change quickly, especially early and late in the season.

Fees: Day-use or parking fees may apply at some federally managed access areas.

Regulations and Notes

Electric Lake is typically managed with trout in mind, and special regulations may apply depending on current management goals. Always check the latest Utah fishing regulations and posted notices.
